What it covers

This course explores natural and synthetic dyeing techniques, colour, and finishing, using artisanal and hand methods such as fabric dyeing, painting, and screen printing. You will examine contemporary, historical, cultural, and sustainable perspectives on textile dyeing and colouration practices, applying these insights to your own design work. Through conceptual, experimental, and technical approaches, you will develop the skills to design and create textiles relevant to your field or area of interest. You will also explore sustainable approaches to surface design and colouration, considering their impact across a material's life cycle.
