What it covers

In this course, you will be introduced to core specialised skills in jewellery production focusing on techniques that utilise additive technologies with a range of materials and hot and cold joining techniques such as riveting, soldering, enameling and mechanical fixing, before extending this knowledge by experimenting with diverse ways of attaching dissimilar materials together in relation to the body and object. You will develop strategies and methods of jewellery production to progress your art practice and build upon the skills you have already developed in other courses. You will engage in methods and processes that foreground safe practices and consider environmental sustainability. Projects will encourage processes of documentation and reflection to inform and extend your studio work. The course is part of the Major: 3D Studio Practices and Minor: Jewellery & Material Practice.
