What it covers
You will learn about (developmental) language disorders in children, including their characteristics, risk factors, and impact on learning and participation. You will develop skills to assess language development, interpret findings, and plan evidence-based interventions. You will integrate theory with practical application through case studies that support your clinical reasoning. Emphasis is placed on culturally responsive and safe practice, family-centred care, and collaboration with educators. This unit builds on your foundational knowledge and prepares you for clinical work with children experiencing developmental language difficulties.
