What it covers
This unit draws on criminology, sociology, and law to teach you to analyse and evaluate criminal and other wrongful conduct in the business context. You will learn about the kinds of conduct within or by corporate entities which may lead to criminal (or other serious) penalties being imposed on corporations and/or individuals. The unit takes an active learning approach and you will learn about corporate crime and wrongdoing through examples from around the world and across time. From the violence of the British East India Company’s colonisation of India to allegations of anti-competitive and cartel conduct by leading tech companies like Amazon and Meta, you will develop your understanding of criminological concepts as you learn about real-life events and historical contexts.
