What it covers
The primary focus of metaphysics is fundamental reality. Metaphysicians develop, and debate, competing conceptions of what there fundamentally is, and what it is fundamentally like. There are many branches of metaphysics. In this unit, you will undertake a supervised project, in one of a specified range of topics in social ontology--artefacts, disability, etiquette, gender, money, and race--, that investigates the fundamental nature of the chosen object of study. So, for example, if you choose to do a project on etiquette, then your project will engage in some way with the question of what etiquette fundamentally is.
