What it covers
Designed to advance your intercultural competence to support you to operate ethically and effectively in contemporary workplaces, the Global Encounters program is delivered across diverse, virtual and real-world learning settings. You will undertake a pre-program module focusing on intercultural principles and important historical and cultural context. This module will also provide an introduction to Indigenous Knowledges, worldviews, epistemologies, ontologies, axiologies, and transdisciplinary ways of addressing social, economic and ecological challenges. In the intensive component of the unit, you will learn from Indigenous community leaders, educators and entrepreneurs who will share aspects of Indigenous Knowledge systems and cultures that shape and inform ecological practices, entrepreneurship, and creative and cultural industries in local contexts. Learning from specific Indigenous communities and cultural organisations, you will gain an insight into business, community engagement and education practices that seek to re-shape and encourage intercultural understanding and collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.
