What it covers

First Peoples Design Engagement 2 is undertaken within the Architecture Design Electives offered through the BP250 program. This studio-based course strengthens and extends your capability for Indigenous design engagement and culturally responsive practices within architectural design. This course has its own design focus and way of working, drawing on historical, theoretical, cultural, Country-centred and community-engaged approaches within Indigenous architecture. A balloting process assigns specific offerings within the Indigenous Design Engagement minor. Refer to minor-specific posters for semester details and objectives. As part of the First Peoples Design Engagement minor, this studio-based course develops capabilities for Indigenous design engagement and culturally responsive practice that support your work in the First Peoples Design Engagement: Design Studio and extends on skills developed in the First Peoples Design Engagement 1 studio-based course. Projects explore principles of designing with Country and effective consultation and engagement relevant to contemporary architectural practice.
