Rules for completing this course
You must complete: - A maximum of four units at Level 1 (24 credit points); and - A minimum of four units at Level 3 (24 credit points). Probability and statistics extended major requirements You must complete 72 credit points, comprising; - 42 credit points of Core units; - 24 credit points of Additional units; and - 6 credit points of Elective units.
Core unit substitutions and requirements for double degree students
Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science (E3007) - You must complete ENG1005 Engineering Mathematics and ENG2005 Engineering Mathematics (Advanced) instead of the core units MTH1030 or MTH1035 and MTH2010 or MTH2015, respectively. - ENG1005 and ENG2005 count towards the requirements of the extended major; however, they do not contribute to the 96 credit points of Science units required for the Bachelor of Science. Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Computer Science (S2004) - You must complete MAT1830 or FIT1058 instead of the core unit MTH1110. - MAT1830 or FIT1058 counts towards the requirements of the extended major; however, they do not contribute to the 96 credit points of Science units required for the Bachelor of Science.
Elective unit
6 cpYou must complete one unit (6 credit points) from the following list, or from the above list (not already completed). Note 1: MTH2051 has a corequisite requirement of SCI1022, FIT1045, FIT1053 or ENG1060. If you do not have basic coding skills, you are strongly encouraged to complete one of these units. However, these units do not count towards the requirements of this extended major. Note 2: If you meet the prerequisites, you may consider replacing MTH3020, MTH3110 and MTH3170 with their advanced units: MTH3025, MTH3115 and MTH3175.
