Professional Practice domain
6 cpYou must complete 6 credit points from the following units
Part D. Professional practice
Continuous professional development is a crucial part of meeting the requirements to be a Professional Engineer. Clayton campus students: To meet the Engineers Australia Stage 1 Competency Standard to be a Professional Engineer you must enrol in ENG0001 in your final year and satisfy the professional development requirements. Malaysia campus students: To meet the Engineering Accreditation Council Malaysia industrial training requirements to be a Professional Engineer, you must enrol in ENG0002 in the second semester of your third year and complete the industrial training.
Part E. Elective studies
36 cpYou must complete 36 credit points, comprising: - In year 2: 12 credit points at Level 1, 2 or 3 from the Faculty of Engineering or other faculties; - In years 3 and 4: 24 credit points at Level 3, 4 or 5 from the Technical electives list. Note 1: Electives must be completed at the required unit level to satisfy the course requirements. Note 2: You may use your elective studies to complete an engineering minor, or any unit from an engineering minor, that will complement your specialisation. If you select a single unit you must ensure you meet the unit prerequisites or co-requisite rules. This will allow you to tailor your studies and broaden your knowledge within the field of engineering while still aligning with your chosen specialisation. Note 3: You may enrol in up to two units (12 credit points) at Level 5. To be eligible to enrol in Level 5 units, you must obtain a weighted average mark (WAM) of 65 or above at the conclusion of Level 3 and be in your final year of study. If you intend to enrol in the Master of Engineering, completing Level 5 units that are core in the Master's course will reduce the total duration of your Master's study. Double degree students are not required to complete this Part. The 36 credit points of technical electives have been credited towards the double degree structure and therefore are not a requirement in the double degree courses.
